Root Work is an ongoing performance laboratory for the study of spiritual identity. The installation consists of alchemical laboratory equipment and several species of plants used in traditional Southern folk medicine/magic growing under energy efficient grow lights. During the course of the exhibition, the plants are tended, their roots harvested and then distilled into alchemical medications.
