A hands on workshop about labor, sacrifice and the co-optation of cultural obligation. Starting with brewing espresso on the stovetop, and ending with plucking sacrificial animals, I lead the group through a demonstration of ritualized household tasks that I’ve learned and adopted over the past year as a member of the Afro-Cuban religious community .
